1. Drink water on empty stomach which helps in detoxifying the body by flushing out metabolic wastes. Early grey of hairs and wrinkles are delayed and digestive system is regular. First thing in the morning drink a big glass of warm water with a squirt of fresh lemon juice and a spoonful of raw honey. This helps you have a regular morning bowel movement and flushes out toxins. You’ ll be amazed at how vital and energetic you’ll feel once your digestion and elimination are back on track
2. Morning Abulations : Toilet habits should be regular, hand and feet should be washed after each visit to toilet.
3. Wash face and eyes with lukewarm water which benefits in removing dirt and oil deposits from face and eyes thereby preventing pimples and eye infections respectively.
4. Oral Hygine – Brush teeth with twigs of neem or babul, wash mouth with water and clean the tongue
5. Nasaya (snuffing) : inhale a pinch of nasya from each nostril which makes the nasal passage becomes clear, helps in prevention of diseases of head, eyes, nose, throat and it makes hair becomes long, dense and black.
6. Abhyanga (massage) : Apply oil massage to whole body which makes skin supple and lustrous, blood circulation is enhanced, pores of the skin are cleaned and metabolic wastes are washed away
7. Vyayama (exercise) : Perform Yogasanas to the extent of half of the body strength. Regular exercise increases the stamina and improve immune system which in return alleviates stress.
8. Scrubbing (Udvartana) : scrub the whole body with dry powder of aromatic herbs which helps removing grime, oil and dirt thus gives suppleness and lusture to skin. Body odour is also reduced and pleasant smell emanates from the body. That means every day you are performing the Anti- ageing treatment at home without any cost. These are the Anti-wrinkle strategies mentioned in Ayurveda which should be started at the age of 16. Herbal teas excellent in this situation are, fennel, sage and camomile.
9. Bath (Snana) : Take bath daily with warm suffused with aromatic herbs which removes all kind of grime, oil, dirt etc from the body, pores of skin become clean. The skin becomes supple and lustrous. Bathing helps in providing sound sleep and eradicates fatigue, sweat and itching.
10. Cutting of hair and nails : At regular intervals nails and hair should be cut which benefits improving the hygiene, personal appearance and appeal by good grooming.
11. Anulepana (Annointing) : Annoint the body with scented paste after bath which helps in removing body odour and provides pleasant smell emanating from body and skin becomes lustrous.
12. Breakfast may follow gentle exercise and meditation. Lunch should be eaten before noon, if possible and dinner before sunset. Eat slowly.
13. Fifteen minutes after meals take a short walk.
14. Fast once a week to help reduce toxins in the body.
15. Sleep before 10pm and always sleep on the left side, it will suppress the lunar energy and aggravates the solar energy. The aggravation of solar energy may create pitta in the body. So, a person of pitta constitution should sleep on the right side and vata and kapha types should sleep on the left side.

Anti Vata diet Wheat, brown rice, carrots, okra, green peas, radishes, onions – all vegetables cooked; sweeteners like jiggery; sesame oil and ghee; spices like turmeric, ginger, asfoetida, fennel, cloves, coriander, cumin and trikatu; chicken or fish meat; warm water.
